Agua Dulce lost to Taft back in December of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Agua Dulce Longhorns enjoyed a cozy 51-37 victory over the Taft Greyhounds. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Longhorns.

Agua Dulce's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Avery Calvez, who went 9 of 20 en route to 22 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Vinton, who posted 11 points, to go along with eight steals and six boards.

Taft's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Krista Amaya, who went 8 of 12 on her way to 17 points and three steals, and Aliana Torres, who had 12 points, to go along with four steals and four blocks. Amaya is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Yaneli Rios, who posted four points in addition to six boards and three blocks.

Agua Dulce's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Taft, they moved to 9-5 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Agua Dulce didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 33-25 victory against Falfurrias on the 6th. As for Taft, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 45-25 win against Varsity Opponent on the 7th.
