Nixon are taking a road trip to challenge Jay at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Nixon will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
On Friday, Nixon earned a 21-13 victory over Winn.
Emiliano Hernandez continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 102 yards and three scores on only 13 carries. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Nixon's defense and their four sacks. Pablo De Leon was especially locked on to Winn's QB and sacked him twice. De Leon has become a key player for Nixon: the team is undefeated when he posts at least one sack, but 1-2 otherwise. The Mustangs got some further help from Joaquin Gallegos: he picked up a sack, forced two fumbles, and made eight total tackles.
Meanwhile, Jay was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Cigarroa 35-6. The Mustangs pushed the score to 35-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Toros cut but never quite recovered from.
Nixon better keep an eye on Tajari Wellington. He was instrumental in Jay's win, rushing for 52 yards and a pair of TDs, while also throwing for 79 yards and one touchdown. Brennan Oliver got in on the action too, returning a kick for a touchdown.
Jay didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Christopher Balderas and Victor Baldwin. Baldwin got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Nixon's record is now 5-2. As for Jay, their record now sits at 5-1.
Thursday's contest might be decided on the ground. Nixon has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 161.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Jay struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 181.7 rushing yards. There's a good chance Thursday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Nixon took a serious blow against Jay when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 44-7. Can Nixon avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
