In what's become a running theme this season, the Kent Island Buccaneers gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They blew past Kent County, posting a 54-26 win at home. Winning may never get old, but Kent Island sure is getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
Kent County's loss came despite strong showings from Zoe Angenieux and Kate Cannon. Angenieux dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds, while Cannon scored four points along with eight rebounds. It was the first time this season that Cannon pulled down eight or more rebounds.
Kent Island is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Kent County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kent Island will square off against the Seahawks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kent County will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against the Colonels at 5:00 p.m. on February 5th.
