Tribe W is 9-1 against NYOS Charter since November of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Tribe W Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the NYOS Charter Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. Tribe W will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
Last Friday, Tribe W humbled Austin Royals HomeSchool with a 53-8 victory. The result was nothing new for Tribe W, who have now won five games by 45 points or more so far this season.
Tribe W's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Joshua Mcalister, who rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also picked up 93 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Mcalister was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 61 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Lock, who threw for 216 yards and four touchdowns on only eight passes.
NYOS Charter fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Jubilee 48-14 on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-2.
NYOS Charter haved a senior duo take command as Lucas Harman threw for 173 yards and four touchdowns on only 12 passes and Mark Amichia gained 163 total yards and three touchdowns. Milo Oden was another key contributor, picking up 40 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Tribe W's win was their seventh straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 7-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-11 Runge and 0-10 Williamson County HomeSchool (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 35% over those games). As for NYOS Charter, their win on Friday bumped their record up to 4-4.
Everything came up roses for Tribe W against NYOS Charter in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 62-14 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was NYOS Charter's Chase McDuffie, who rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries, and also threw for 194 yards and a touchdown while completing 75% of his passes. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Tribe W to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
