Softball Recap: Safford Has No Trouble Against Blue Ridge

Safford never got on the board in their matchup last Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Blue Ridge on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 16-5 margin over the Yellow Jackets. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won five contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Marley Jurado, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Trynity Dominguez, who scored four runs while going 2-for-4.

Safford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Safford now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Blue Ridge, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.

Safford has already played their next game, a 13-2 loss against Walden Grove on the 3rd. As for Blue Ridge, they will venture away from home to take on Winslow at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Yellow Jackets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 10 runs per game this season.
