The Lorena Leopards will be playing at home against the Rockdale Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lorena knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully Rockdale likes a good challenge.
Two Fridays ago, Lorena took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 48-20 victory over McGregor. Given Lorena's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 217th, while McGregor is ranked 598th), the result wasn't exactly an upset.
The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Braylon Henry and Sebastian Torres. Henry had a great game and rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries. Meanwhile, Torres was balling out in the loss, rushing for 155 yards, while also catching two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Rockdale earned a 29-21 win over Troy on Friday.
Their wins bumped Lorena to 5-2 and Rockdale to 2-4.
Everything came up roses for Lorena against Rockdale in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 63-20 victory. Does Lorena have another victory up their sleeve, or will Rockdale turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
