The Thompson Valley Eagles will be playing at home against the Frederick Golden Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
Last Saturday, Thompson Valley slipped by Loveland 38-37. Given Thompson Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while Loveland is ranked 202nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Thompson Valley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jesika Hopkins, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Frederick put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They breezed by Skyline on the road to the tune of 58-20. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Frederick has posted since December 7, 2023.
Thompson Valley's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Frederick, they pushed their record up to 8-4 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Thompson Valley came up short against Frederick in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 61-51.
