The Sumner-Eddyville-Miller Mustangs stacked an 11th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They breezed by Ansley/Litchfield at home to the tune of 65-32. The win was nothing new for Sumner-Eddyville-Miller as they're now sitting on three straight.
Sumner-Eddyville-Miller was led to victory by Mikah O'Neill and Taryn Arbuthnot. O'Neill scored 20 points along with six rebounds and five steals, while Arbuthnot scored 19 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. O'Neill is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cayleigh Jackson, who scored 13 points.
Despite the loss, Ansley/Litchfield saw an underclassman step up: Caydence Feldman scored 14 points along with four steals.
Ansley/Litchfield struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Sumner-Eddyville-Miller racked up 12 assists.
Sumner-Eddyville-Miller's victory was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-1. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 31.73 points. As for Ansley/Litchfield, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.
Sumner-Eddyville-Miller will head out on the road to square off against Amherst at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Amherst is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games. Ansley/Litchfield on the road again on Saturday and play against Axtell at 2:30 p.m. on January 27th.
