Basketball Recap: Fairfax Skates Past Metro Tech with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fairfax). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Metro Tech Knights 95-13. The Stampede have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 35 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fairfax to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ajana Kenyatta, who dropped a double-double on 34 points and ten rebounds. Kenyatta has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 19 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Mayega Enow, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds.

Fairfax was working as a unit and finished the game with 25 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The victory was the third in a row for Fairfax, bringing their record for this year to 5-4. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 21.0 points per game. As for Metro Tech, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the loss, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairfax will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on North at 5:30 p.m. on January 9, 2025. Metro Tech will take on Alhambra in a holiday battle at at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
