Natchez is 2-0 against Florence since November of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Natchez Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Florence Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Natchez will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Last Friday, Natchez got themselves on the board against South Jones, but South Jones never followed suit. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 36-0 win over the Braves. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Natchez had established a 30 point advantage.
Natchez can attribute much of their success to Jakel Irving, who rushed for 106 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, and also threw for 45 yards and a touchdown while completing 75% of his passes. Irving was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 65 yards.
Natchez's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Leading the way was Irving and his three sacks.
Florence fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against North Pike by a score of 28-16 on Friday.
Their wins bumped Natchez to 4-4 and Florence to 5-3.
Natchez took their victory against Florence when the teams last played back in November of 2022 by a conclusive 38-17. Does Natchez have another victory up their sleeve, or will Florence turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
