Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oberlin). They walked away with a 70-60 victory over the Brooklyn Hurricanes on Friday. For the The Phoenix , this counts as revenge for the 54-31 win the Hurricanes walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Josiah Bowen-Pride had an outrageously good game as he went 6 of 13 en route to 20 points along with six boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Korrie Freeman, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds.

Devin Hardwick and Tyler Cox certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Hardwick almost dropped a triple-double on 22 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists, while Cox posted 16 points and seven rebounds. That was a full 36.7% of Brooklyn's points, marking the eighth time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Carden, who had nine points.

Oberlin's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Brooklyn, their record now sits at 1-8.

Oberlin didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 61-46 loss against Columbia on the 7th. As for Brooklyn, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 78-28 defeat against Fairview on the 7th.
