Medina hasn't had much luck against Brunswick recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Battling Bees will head out to square off against the Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Medina had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 21-run drubbing they dealt Cleveland Heights on Saturday. The Battling Bees never let the Tigers get on the board and left with a 21-0 victory. The Battling Bees might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by ten runs or more this season.
Addie Connelly made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Connelly was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Katie Rubino, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelsey Swinko, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Medina was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .688. They are 8-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Brunswick ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Revere 10-9. The win was nothing new for the Blue Devils as they're now sitting on six straight.
Brunswick let Elena Osowski and Ava Beas run wild. Osowski went 4-for-6 with three RBI, while Beas went 3-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That double was Beas' first of the season. Another player making a difference was Abbey Nemec, who went 2-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Brunswick pushed their record up to 13-3 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Medina, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Medina hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .364. However, it's not like Brunswick struggles in that department as they've averaged .417. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Medina couldn't quite finish off Brunswick in their previous matchup back in April and fell 7-5. Can the Battling Bees avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
