In what's become a running theme this season, the Mandeville Skippers gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Hammond 72-28 at home. Mandeville is really starting to get used to good results now that the team's won 12 straight.
Leading Mandeville to victory were Hannah Benoit and Alanna Benoit. Benoit dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds, while Benoit scored 25 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. Benoit hasn't dropped below 21 points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Jordyn Carter, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Mandeville is on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 18 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 25-5 record this season. As for Hammond, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-14 record this season.
Mandeville will take on Covington at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hammond, they will be playing at home against Ponchatoula at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Hammond: they have been struggling with six straight losses at home, while Ponchatoula has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road.
