The Paradise Honors Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 24 points or more this season. Couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up 2023 than the 57-27 stomp they got on the road against High Tech SD. Given Paradise Honors' advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 48th in Arizona, while High Tech SD is ranked 491st in California), the result on Wednesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Paradise Honors' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Morgan Van Dyke led the charge by scoring 13 points. Another player making a difference was Jocelyn Leal, who scored 11 points.
When it comes to explaining why High Tech SD lost, one person who can't be blamed is Vivianna Cravens. Despite the final result, she scored six points along with four steals. Cravens hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games.
The victory (which was Paradise Honors' third in a row) raised their record to 9-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for High Tech SD, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-3.
Paradise Honors will be staying on the road on January 4, 2024 to face off against Dysart at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. High Tech SD won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Apache Junction at 1:30 p.m. on December 28th. Apache Junction is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
