Gallia Academy has gone a perfect 8-0 against Chesapeake recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Blue Devils will head out on the road to challenge the Panthers at 5:30 p.m. Gallia Academy's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Chesapeake's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Gallia Academy was handed a ten-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Ironton 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Blue Devils have posted against the Fighting Tigers since April 28, 2022.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Chesapeake, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They walked away with an 8-3 victory over Tolsia on Tuesday.
Kaden Perkins made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Perkins was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Clay Wagner was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. That run marked the first that he has scored this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jon-Cooper Barker, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Chesapeake kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
The win got Chesapeake back to even at 6-6. As for Gallia Academy, their record now sits at 6-4.
Gallia Academy beat Chesapeake 3-0 in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Will the Blue Devils repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
