After two games on the road, Lancaster is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Cardinal O'Hara Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lancaster will be strutting in after a victory while Cardinal O'Hara will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Tuesday, Lancaster was able to grind out a solid win over The Park School of Buffalo, taking the game 57-49. Given Lancaster's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while The Park School of Buffalo is ranked 71st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Cardinal O'Hara unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. Their rough 78-54 defeat to Canisius might stick with them for a while. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cardinal O'Hara in their matchups with Canisius: they've now lost nine in a row.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Kels Ivey, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. The game was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Johnson, who scored 14 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Lancaster's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Cardinal O'Hara, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
Lancaster didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Cardinal O'Hara when the teams last played back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 54-48 victory. Will Lancaster repeat their success, or does Cardinal O'Hara have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
