Big Sandy is 0-10 against McKenzie since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Big Sandy Red Devils will get right back to it and host the McKenzie Rebels at 7:15 p.m. on February 9th. On Thursday, Big Sandy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 78-72 to Waverly Central.
Despite the defeat, Big Sandy got a solid performance out of Cole Pierpoint, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and 12 rebounds. Pierpoint continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Seth Green was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Meanwhile, McKenzie waltzed into their game two weeks ago with six straight wins but they left with seven. They came out on top against McEwen by a score of 61-53.
Big Sandy's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for McKenzie, they pushed their record up to 9-5 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home.
