Brandon Summers and Nate Klinkenberg provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Pacifica. The connection was good for 67 yards, the longest such play in Empire this season.
Jesse Godoy of Valencia ran for the longest rushing play in the league this season against Cypress last week. Godoy ran for 56 yards on the play and finished with 124 on the day as his team bested the Centurions.
Yorba Linda's dynamic duo of Summers and Shad Pace proved tough for the Mariners to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Summers threw for 202 yards and one touchdown and Pace had 93 yards receiving. Klinkenberg helped Yorba Linda's passing attack out by catching two balls for 79 yards.
The Mustangs' Summers and Pace have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Summers has thrown for 1731 yards this season, while Pace, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 53 catches for 812 yards. Jake Brito from Cypress leads the league in rushing with 1371 yards.
Tustin extended the longest winning streak in Empire this week by beating Kennedy, 48-0. The victory was the 10th in a row for the team.
