When it comes to explaining why South Bend Clay lost, one person who can't be blamed is Maliya Freeman. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 25 points and 13 rebounds. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for her. Rachel Hunt was another key contributor, scoring a points along with seven assists and six rebounds.
Even though they lost, South Bend Clay were working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
South Bend Clay's loss was their seventh straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-15. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.9 points per game. As for Jimtown, their win bumped their record up to 8-9.
