Baseball Recap: Mountain Vista Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Win

Mountain Vista extended their winning streak to eight on Saturday, bumping them up to 12-9. They were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over the Chaparral Wolverines. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Golden Eagles have posted against the Wolverines since May 25, 2019.

Caden Christianson looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Jace Brockett was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Damarco Medina also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

As for Chaparral, their loss dropped their record down to 14-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat they have suffered against Mountain Vista since May 10, 2019.

On Chaparral's side, Beckett Bacon was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He struck out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. That's the fewest hits Bacon has allowed since back in April. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Bacon wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Colton Pamenter, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases. Another was Kendrick Parrill, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
