The Northwestern Lehigh Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Saucon Valley Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Northwestern Lehigh is currently enjoying a perfect season, with five straight wins to start things off.
Last Friday, Northwestern Lehigh got themselves on the board against Lehighton, but Lehighton never followed suit. They put a hurting on the Indians at home to the tune of 49-0.
Northwestern Lehigh's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Shane Leh led the charge by throwing for 118 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also rushing for 47 yards. Leh is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played. Eli Zimmerman was in the mix too, providing Northwestern Lehigh with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Saucon Valley was able to grind out a solid win over Pottsville on Friday, taking the game 21-9.
Saucon Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jack Robertson out in front who picked up 97 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Robertson was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 67 yards. It was a true group effort though, as the team also got help from Peter Albano, who threw for 157 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 passes.
Their wins bumped Northwestern Lehigh to 5-0 and Saucon Valley to 3-2.
Northwestern Lehigh beat Saucon Valley 20-0 in their previous matchup last September. Will Northwestern Lehigh repeat their success, or does Saucon Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
