The Timber Creek Falcons will head out on the road to take on the V.R. Eaton Eagles at 7:00 a.m. on Friday. Timber Creek has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 28.
Timber Creek pushed their score all the way to 60 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 68-60 to Fossil Ridge.
The losing side was boosted by Ryne Lane, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Robert Moore, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, V.R. Eaton beat Keller Central 45-41 on Tuesday. Given V.R. Eaton's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 141st, while Keller Central is ranked 378th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Timber Creek has been struggling recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-16 record this season. As for V.R. Eaton, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-7.
Timber Creek took a serious blow against V.R. Eaton in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 72-42. Can Timber Creek avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
