Laurel-Concord-Coleridge have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. They will challenge Winnebago on the road at 7:00 PM on Friday. Both teams will be looking for a pick-me-up after considerable defeats in their previous games.
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 16-40 punch to the gut against Randolph two weeks ago. Laurel-Concord-Coleridge got a solid performance out of senior Izac Reifenrath, who rushed for 134 yards and 2 touchdowns; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the victory. In fact, with 9 tackles Reifenrath was a force on both sides of the ball.
Meanwhile, Winnebago took a serious blow against Lutheran-Northeast last Friday, falling 26-64.
With the two teams each stumbling in off of a defeat, both will be hungry for the win. We'll see which team satisfies that hunger and which team leaves with an empty belly.
