Meanwhile, Mankato East came tearing into Friday's matchup with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 73-44 win over John Marshall on the road.
Owatonna's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Mankato East, their win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-6.
