Two dominant players in Peyton Kotter and Elijah Kersey are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Clearfield Falcons will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Box Elder Bees at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Clearfield is ranked 79th, while Box Elder is ranked 71st).
Clearfield pushed their score all the way to 64 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 74-64 to Roy.
Meanwhile, Box Elder didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Bonneville on Wednesday, but they still walked away with a 48-43 win.
Box Elder got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Max Isaacson out in front who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kersey, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Clearfield's loss was their seventh straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-9. As for Box Elder, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-9 record this season.
Clearfield came up short against Box Elder when the teams last played back in December of 2019, falling 52-47. Can Clearfield avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
