The Grace Christian Academy Crusaders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 71-39 loss at the hands of Gardner-South Wilmington. Grace Christian Academy was down 56-32 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Grace Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ethan Reynolds, who scored 14 points. That was a full 35.9% of Grace Christian Academy's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Bisping, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds.
Grace Christian Academy dropped their record down to 5-19 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Gardner-South Wilmington, their win bumped their record up to 8-19.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grace Christian Academy is on the road again on Tuesday and plays Illinois Lutheran at 4:30 p.m. on February 13th. Hopefully Illinois Lutheran focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Friday. As for Gardner-South Wilmington, they will head out on the road to challenge Joliet Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Gardner-South Wilmington is facing Joliet Catholic at the right time seeing as Joliet Catholic is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
