Immanuel has gone 8-2 against Exeter recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Eagles will challenge the Monarchs at 4:00 p.m. Immanuel is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
Selma hit Immanuel with a nine-run sixth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles lost 10-0 to the Bears. Considering the last time the Eagles couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.
Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three game, Exeter brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. Everything went their way against Central Valley Christian on Tuesday as they made off with a 17-7 victory. Considering the Monarchs have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Chloe Sparrow was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 13 batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her six plate appearances with two runs.
In other batting news, Madi Concha was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Maddie Avelar was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Exeter hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Immanuel's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Exeter, they moved to 14-8 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Immanuel hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .318. However, it's not like Exeter struggles in that department as they've averaged .354. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Immanuel's way against Exeter in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, as Immanuel made off with an 11-1 victory. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Monarchs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
