Softball Recap: Monroe Central Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

While Monroe Central put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Bishop Rosecrans. The Seminoles put the hurt on the Bishops with a sharp 10-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Seminoles, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

Karlie Haslam was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.

In other batting news, Jadyn Miller was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last eight games she's played. Another player making a difference was Reese Binegar, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs.

Monroe Central has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Bishop Rosecrans, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

As of now, neither Monroe Central nor the Bishops have any future games scheduled.
