After flying high against the Arlington Colts last Friday, the Bowie Volunteers came back down to earth. Bowie suffered a rough 84-59 loss at the hands of Haltom on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Bowie has suffered yet this season.
It was another big night for Kuol Atak, who shot 8-for-18 from deep and dropped a double-double on 46 points and 17 rebounds for Haltom. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Atak has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ashton Moore, who scored 18 points.
Bowie has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-12 record this season. As for Haltom, they pushed their record up to 15-7 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bowie will challenge South Grand Prairie at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. South Grand Prairie will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Haltom, they will head out on the road to challenge Sam Houston at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Sam Houston focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday.
