It was a good run, but the Schuylkill Haven Hurricanes unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 55-47 to Minersville. Schuylkill Haven was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Minersville apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Minersville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Shazier Bethea led the charge by scoring 16 points along with two steals. Bethea hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Dante Carr, who scored 13 points along with three blocks and two steals.
Schuylkill Haven's defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-3. As for Minersville, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-7.
Schuylkill Haven does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Minersville, they will be playing at home against Neumann Regional Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
