Basketball Recap: Horse Creek Academy Comes Up Short

Horse Creek Academy lost against Westminster Schools of Augusta back in January of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Horse Creek Academy Stallions took a 70-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Westminster Schools of Augusta Wildcats. The Stallions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Horse Creek Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Aidan Walls posted 23 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Walls has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Amaree Roberson, who earned 11 points.

Gavin Fox continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Westminster Schools of Augusta, going 6 of 14 on his way to 28 points and six rebounds. With that strong performance, Fox is now averaging an impressive 16 points per game. Another player making a difference was Levi Ketterman, who put up six points and 12 rebounds.

Horse Creek Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Westminster Schools of Augusta, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.

Horse Creek Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Williston-Elko at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Westminster Schools of Augusta and Great Falls will round out the year against one another at at 4:30 p.m. on December 27th. Westminster Schools of Augusta is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.9 points per game this season.
