Softball Recap: Cranberry Area Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Cranberry Area entered their tilt with Redbank Valley on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Bulldogs. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Berries also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Danica Wenner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 12 Ks.

At the plate, Cranberry Area got a massive performance out of Avery Coe, who fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3. Those RBI marked the first that Coe has brought in this season. Another player making a difference was Jadyn Schumaker, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.

Cranberry Area hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Redbank Valley struck out 12 times.

Cranberry Area now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Redbank Valley, they dropped their record down to 3-3 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cranberry Area will challenge Rocky Grove at 4:30 p.m. on the 25th. As for Redbank Valley, they will face off against Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
