The Arnett Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 34 points or more this season. They blew past Balko 68-34 on the road. Given Arnett's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 58th, while Balko is ranked 219th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Balko still got an impressive performance from Emelie Trentham, who scored 17 points. The contest was Trentham's third in a row with at least ten points.
The victory was the fourth in a row for Arnett, bringing their record for this year to 10-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Balko, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arnett won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Leedey on January 6th. Leedey is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. Balko won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Laverne on January 6th.
