Adding to the longest winning streak in KCI this week, Lathrop beat Plattsburg 42-7. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
Penney's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Kellen Overstreet chipped in 166 yards.
Overstreet was a passing and rushing force as the Hornets bested King City.
Jordan Pickrell was a key player and the best on defense this week as Penney topped the Wildkats. He nabbed 1 interception and recorded 1 fumble.
Overstreet was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 166 yards on 4 carries as Dave Fairchild's team bested King City. Keithan Litton also contributed to the rushing game with 111 yards on the ground.
Penney's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Hornets feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Drew Finch has thrown for 480 yards and 6 touchdowns this season, while Overstreet has 18 catches for 341 yards.
West Platte made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 10,682 from 10,820. The improvement was largely due to a 39-6 victory over North Platte last week.
