South Pointe couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. South Pointe wouldn't let Spartanburg keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Miles Wilson was the leader in that area as all came courtesy of his dominant performance. C.J. Wherry was another major factor on D, making 11 total tackles and defending five passes.
Even though they lost, South Pointe was moving up and down the field and finished the game with 400 total yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Spartanburg only gained 162.
South Pointe will challenge Rock Hill at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Spartanburg, they will be defending their home-field for the first time for the first time when they go up against Dutch Fork at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
