Baseball Recap: Culver Academies Wins Going Away Against Pioneer

Culver Academies won the last time they faced Pioneer and things went their way on Thursday too. The Eagles were the clear victors by an 18-8 margin over the Panthers. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won 13 contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Ty Rakan, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and one stolen base while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Schumacher, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Culver Academies lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Culver Academies pushed their record up to 16-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Pioneer, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-14.
