Kent County has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. Having just played yesterday, they will head out on the road to face off against the Pocomoke Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on December 29th.
On Thursday, Kent County was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 41-36 to Nandua.
Pocomoke has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 23 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 56-18 victory over Northampton at home. Given Pocomoke's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 135th in Maryland, while Northampton is ranked 399th in Virginia), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kent County's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-4. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.0 points per game. As for Pocomoke, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.
Kent County came out on top in a nail-biter against Pocomoke in their previous meeting back in December of 2018, sneaking past 35-32. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kent County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
