Meanwhile, Rejoice Christian entered their tilt with Miami on Friday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Wardogs a 14-0 shutout. Considering the Eagles have won 12 games by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Micah Walker made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. In other batting news, Maverick Guinn was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with four runs and one stolen base. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Kai Buntin was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.
Rejoice Christian pushed their record up to 17-14 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Booker T. Washington, their victory bumped their record up to 11-18.
