For Kings Mountain, this counts as revenge for the 59-54 defeat Burns walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Bradley Floyd had a dynamite game for Kings Mountain, scoring 27 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Tucker Robinette, who scored 14 points along with 5 steals.
Burns' lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kamari Surratt, who scored 8 points along with 6 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonny Johnson, who scored 5 points along with 5 blocks.
Burns struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Kings Mountain racked up 11.
Kings Mountain's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Burns, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kings Mountain will take on Cox Mill at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cox Mill will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Burns, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Forestview at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Forestview focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday.
