Centaurus got a great performance from Liam Sweeney as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Sweeney also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Warriors are 5-2 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 2-8 otherwise.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ari Schoenwald-Reed, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Centaurus is 5-2 when Schoenwald-Reed posts two or more runs, but 2-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Logan Ukleja, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Mead, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They skirted past Horizon 5-4.
Isaac Lockwood tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Ryan St. Aubin was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Colin Haley was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.
Mead's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Centaurus, their victory bumped their record up to 7-10.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Centaurus has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Mead struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Centaurus came up short against Mead when the teams last played back in April of 2025, falling 5-2. Will the Warriors have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
