If Lyon County was feeling good fresh off their 18-7 takedown of Livingston Central on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lyons fell just short of the Henderson County Colonels by a score of 7-6 on Friday. The Lyons' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Brady Belt and Austin Spears stepped up to the plate in a big way. Belt went 1-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base, while Spears went 2-for-5 with one home run.

Lyon County's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Henderson County, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-9.

Coming up, Lyon County will face off against St. Mary at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Vikings' pitching crew has only allowed 1.5 runs per game this season, so the Lyons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Henderson County, they will square off against Evansville Mater Dei at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Colonels surely won't give up without a fight.
