The Hazen Highlanders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 21 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 60-39 margin over Kennedy Catholic. The win was familiar territory for Hazen who now have three in a row.
Dakota Nap continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 23 points along with five rebounds and three steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. India Andrews was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Several Lancers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mary Kaul, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and three steals. Those five rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriela King, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
Hazen pushed their record up to 7-7 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.7 points per game. As for Kennedy Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-7.
Hazen will be playing in front of their home fans against Liberty at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Kennedy Catholic won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Auburn Mountainview at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th. Auburn Mountainview has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
