The Lena-Winslow Panthers stacked an 11th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They really took it to Durand for the full four quarters, racking up a 60-32 win on the road. Given Lena-Winslow's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 188th, while Durand is ranked 543rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Reagan McCallips and Shiloh Anderson certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. McCallips scored 11 points, while Anderson scored eight points along with five rebounds and four steals. Anderson continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played.
Lena-Winslow is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season. As for Durand, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-18.
Lena-Winslow will be playing in front of their home fans against South Beloit at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lena-Winslow will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something South Beloit surely won't give up without a fight. As for Durand, they will head out on the road to take on Dakota at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Durand is coming into the matchup with 20 straight losses on the road, meaning Dakota will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory.
