Noble Street College Prep came out on top against UIC College Prep on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fifth inning. The Golden Tigers were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Firecats. The Golden Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by six runs or more this season.

Ethan Gallegos made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, earning one run and two stolen bases.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Michael Santiago, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Noble Street College Prep is undefeated when Santiago posts two or more runs, but 3-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Alexander Bonilla, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Noble Street College Prep is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for UIC College Prep, they dropped their record down to 1-7-1 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Noble Street College Prep will host Fasman Yeshiva at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Noble Street College Prep will need to watch out since Fasman Yeshiva has now posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season. As for UIC College Prep, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Juarez at 4:30 p.m. on May 12.
