The Flint River Academy Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight defeat. They fell 57-44 to Notre Dame Academy. Flint River Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Irish Wolfhounds apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2018.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cole Riner, who scored five points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Bode Chaney, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds.
Dallas Williams had a dynamite game for Notre Dame Academy, scoring 14 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Christian McElroy was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Flint River Academy dropped their record down to 2-7 with that defeat, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Notre Dame Academy, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-15.
Flint River Academy will take on the at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Notre Dame Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge the Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Furtah Prep's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
