Softball Recap: Franklin Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

With a playoff win on the line, Franklin rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They blew past the Enochs Eagles 9-1. Winning may never get old, but the Wildcats sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Leilani Garcia spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on seven hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Madison Ortega and Angel Estrada did most of the damage at the plate: Ortega went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Estrada got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave Estrada a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Julissa Sandoval, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one double, and one RBI.

Franklin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They are 9-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Franklin's win bumped their record up to 17-10. As for Enochs, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-6.

Looking ahead, Franklin will face off against Davis Sr. at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Devils' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Enochs does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
