The Lecanto Panthers and the Vanguard Knights squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but sadly the Lecanto Panthers had to settle for second. They fell 53-42 to the Knights. Lecanto's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Despite the defeat, Lecanto saw an underclassman step up: Jt Tipton scored 19 points along with two steals. Tipton hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Josh Patrick, who scored three points along with three steals.
Lecanto's defeat dropped their record down to 21-6. As for Vanguard, their win bumped their record up to 15-10.
Lecanto does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Vanguard, they will head out on the road to take on Leesburg at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Leesburg's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last ten matches.
