Northridge proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by ten) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over the Concord Minutemen. This was payback for the Raiders, who suffered a 12-8 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Leighla Winchester made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over nine innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. Winchester was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run.
In other batting news, Rachel Humbarger was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2025.
Northridge is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season.
