Baseball Recap: Hawthorne Math & Science Academy Victorious

On Thursday, the Hawthorne Math & Science Academy Aviators earned a 7-3 win over the Locke Saints. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Aviators.

Christopher Mora made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in February of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

In other batting news, Charles Jimenez was excellent, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Johan Gutierrez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Hawthorne Math & Science Academy now has a winning record of 2-1-1. As for Locke, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Hawthorne Math & Science Academy has already played their next contest, a 17-8 loss against Pacifica Christian/Santa Monica on the 1st. As for Locke, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 10-4 defeat against Los Angeles Leadership Academy on the 4th.
