Trey Tinsley and Taylor Dodds provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Capistrano Valley. The longest such play in South Coast this season, the connection resulted in 64 yards.
San Clemente's Sam Darnold rumbled for the longest rushing play in the league this season in his game against Cabrillo last week. Darnold scampered for 66 yards on the play and finished with 170 on the day as his team bested the Jaguars.
El Toro's dynamic duo of Tinsley and Dominic Collins proved to be unstoppable against the Cougars, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Tinsley threw for 316 yards and 5 touchdowns and Collins had 122 yards receiving. Dodds helped El Toro's passing attack out by catching 7 balls for 120 yards.
The Chargers' dynamic duo of Tinsley and Collins proved tough for Capistrano Valley to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Darnold was the best running back in the league this week. Teammate Vlad Dzhabiyev added to the ground attack by rushing for 29 yards.
Darnold was a passing and rushing force as San Clemente bested Cabrillo. Darnold's key target this week was Blake Gonzalez, who caught 5 passes for 97 yards.
Collins was the best wideout in South Coast this week as El Toro defeated Ernst Bucher's team.
He was 21-37 with 1 interceptions.
Tinsley put up the best numbers through the air as Robert Frith's team beat the Cougars.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Chargers' Tinsley and Collins have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-3 quarterback Tinsley has thrown for 621 yards this season, while Collins has 18 catches for 263 yards. Darnold from Jamie Ortiz's team leads the league in rushing with 258 yards.
Tesoro moved up to 32 from 62 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Titans were able to make move up by besting Rancho Verde 35-20.
